Kritzer Method

The Kritzer Method consists of two primary components; input (training) and output (performing). The binary approach allows the student the best advantage to reach his or her potential.

Input consists of the technical side of the classical guitar – the training, if you will. This, in addition to a technical foundation which is integrated into repertoire, includes a clear approach to understanding and the memorization of music. Lastly, the input phase consists of a group of practice directives designed to further train the student, eliminating common pitfalls in not only playing, but practicing the classical guitar.

Once the student is sufficiently trained he or she will be encouraged to step into performance practice which will allow the student to clearly access the training at the highest possible level. In the parlance of the day, allowing the student to have a large broadband connection from the hands to the central nervous system. This is the output phase.

Who would benefit

While I believe that this method would benefit every player it certainly isn’t for every temperment. So what kind of temperment would benefit from this method? This information tends to be assimilated by those of you who, despite hard work, have been frustrated with a lack of progress.

One must possess patience and discipline. Frankly, none of this information will benefit you much without a consistency in your practice. (I can’t imagine any teacher disagreeing with this). But if you have been fairly consistent and can’t progress then perhaps the input is at fault and you need help. Skill level has very little to do with it. Whatever your talent I can help you reach your potential.

As your teacher I will challenge you to assimilate this information on both an intellectual as well as physical level. I will push you a little harder than you think you deserve. I can also assure that I have been through, survived, and succedded in conquering the factors that I felt unnaturally limited my playing and thus, I do have compassion.
